International sanctions
The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER amended Appendix 2 to the Ordinance on Sanctions against Persons and Organisations with Connections to Osama Bin Laden, the “Al-Qaeda” group or the Taliban on 17 April 2013. One person was added, six entries were deleted and three entries were updated. The amendment came into force on 19 April 2013. The amendment is available for consultation on the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) website.
Financial intermediaries are requested to immediately freeze the associated assets and report relevant business relationships to the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance. Reporting to SECO does not release the financial intermediary from its obligation to immediately report to the Reporting Center for Money Laundering in accordance with Article 9 of the Money Laundering Act.
International sanctions
The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER today amended Appendices 1 and 2 to the Ordinance on Sanctions against Guinea-Bissau. Further information was added to the entry on one natural person. Six entries were added to Appendix 1 (UN sanctions) and at the same time removed from Appendix 2 (EU sanctions). The amendment came into force on 19 April 2013. The amendment is available for consultation on the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) website.
In accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance, financial intermediaries are requested to report relevant business relationships to the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and to freeze the associated assets.
Amendment to the Appendixto the Ordinance of 25 May 2005 on Sanctions against Sudan (SR 946.231.18)

The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER amended the Appendix to the Ordinance on Sanctions against Sudan on 17 April 2013. Further information was added to all entries on natural persons, which were also amended in accordance with the wording of the UN sanctions. The amendment came into force on 19 April 2013. The amendments to the Ordinance are available for consultation on the SECO website.
In accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance on Sanctions against Sudan, financial intermediaries are requested to report relevant business relationships to SECO) and to freeze the associated assets.
Amendment to Appendices 1 and 2 to the Ordinance of 19 January 2005 on Sanctions against Liberia (SR 946.231.16)
International sanctions
The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER amended Appendices 1 and 2 to the Ordinance on Sanctions against Liberia on 17 April 2013. Further information was added to the entry on one natural person and the remaining entries were amended in accordance with the wording of the UN sanctions. The amendment came into force on 19 April 2013. The amendment is available for consultation on the SECO website.
